Foreign Exchange
Foreign currencies must be exchanged only at authorized banks or licensed foreign exchange dealers. It is important to obtain and retain the exchange receipts for any such transactions. Visitors can also conveniently exchange currency at the foreign exchange counter located at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) upon arrival in Kathmandu.
Airport Tax
A nominal airport tax of NPR 200 is applicable for all domestic departures within Nepal.

Banks in Nepal generally operate from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Sunday through Friday. They remain closed on Saturdays and public holidays. However, some banks may remain open even on weekends and holidays in key locations.
