15 days Annapurna Circuit Trek with Jomsom Flight or Drive Overview
One of the busiest trekking destinations in Nepal, the 15-day Annapurna Circuit Trek, which includes inner lines to Jomsom by flight or drive, circumnavigates all the Annapurna ranges, including Annapurna I (8,091 m), the 10th highest peak in the world. This is a high-altitude trek, with quiet green forest trails dotted with suspension bridges, pretty waterfalls, and a couple of small villages to trek through.
You will be surprised by the beautiful scenery of humongous white Himalayas such as Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Mt. Annapurna I (8,091 m), Mt. Manaslu (8,163 m), Annapurna II (7,937 m), Annapurna III (7,555 m), Annapurna IV (7,525 m), Mt. Annapurna South (7,219 m), Nilgiri (7,041 m), Machhapuchhare (6,998 m), Mt. Hiunchuli (6,441 m), Mt. Lamjung Himal (6,986 m), and Tilicho Peak (7,134 m). The massive Himalayas extend their massive arms wide enough to embrace you. All these remarks encourage the trekkers to trek the Annapurna region of Nepal.
The Annapurna Circuit Trek is moderately demanding and hence a very strong recommendation for physically fit and adventure-loving trekkers. Although technical climbing is not required, the trek includes long walking days, varied landscapes, and high-altitude passes, especially the walk to Thorong La Pass (5,416 m).
While going through some of the villages, rural villagers are encountered too. Their lifestyle, tradition, culture, and language come into sight. Apart from that, Nepali local cuisine could be eaten, and trekking could be experienced.
Route Description
The 15-day Annapurna Circuit Trek with Jomsom Flight or Drive starts with a scenic drive to Besisahar. Along the route, you’ll encounter green farm fields, high hills, pass along the rivers, several settlements, and colorful markets. As you reach Besisahar, rent a jeep and start your second drive of the day to Dharapani, where you're staying for today.
Your trek to the Annapurna Circuit Trek with Jomsom Flight or Drive officially begins from Dharapani to Chame. Then you trek to Upper Pisang, then Manang. Spent an acclimatization/rest day in Manang, and if your body allows, take a short trek to Chhongkar View Point (3,800 m) via Gangapurna Lake.
The trek follows a route of ascending through dense forest and well-trodden trails, and you pass through Ledar and finally reach the best place of the trek, Thorong La (5,416 m). You will be surprised by the view of the vision of the breathtaking white-capped Himalayas, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and others. Then descend to Muktinath Temple, which is a renowned temple that is worshipped by both Hindus and Buddhists. After viewing Muktinath, descend to Kagbeni via Jhong and then Jomsom. You can drive down or fly to Pokhara and back to Kathmandu.

Best Time to Trek
Mainly, there are 2 most favorable seasons for trekking in Nepal's Himalayas. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to December) are the perfect seasons for trekking in Nepal.
Spring (March to May)
The spring season is one of the most popular seasons for trekking in Nepal. In this season, the weather is generally stable, with moderate temperatures, and the days are longer.
Spring is the season of rhododendron, and wildflowers are in full bloom. The sky is crystal clear, offering stunning views of the Annapurna II, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, and more. You’ll be stunned by the beauty of Nepal during this season.
Autumn (September to December)
Autumn is the best season, say most trekkers, to trek the Annapurna district of Nepal. The monsoon rain clears all the dust and pollution, and you have clean and clear skies with great Himalayan vistas. Autumn is a decent time to trek in Nepal, as you have a panoramic view of the mountains around you. The daytime is pleasant and cool at night.
In this period, Nepal's biggest festivities like Dashain and Tihar take place, so the entire environment is wonderful.
Food and Accommodation
Accommodation
You will be lodging in standard hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara with all the amenities. Rooms during the trek are in local teahouses and trekking lodges with basic but clean rooms, typically two single beds and shared bathroom facilities. Flush toilets and hot showers are available in lower elevations, but higher elevations have more basic facilities such as squat toilets and limited water. Teahouses share a dining hall with a wood fire where trekkers gather and get warm, and also have a meal.
Food
Teahouses provide freshly prepared, high-calorie food. Dal Bhat (rice, lentil soup, vegetables)—unlimited refills and ideal for trekkers—is the standard. Pasta, soup, momos, porridge, pancakes, and tea are also available. Vegetarian dishes are common and are advised above Chame. Bottled drinking water is available for purchase, or water can be purified using tablets or filters. Hot beverages and snacks are provided at most rest stops.
Necessary permits
To do the Annapurna Circuit Trek with Muktinath Drive, you need two permits:
Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP)
Trekkers need to pay NPR 3,000 (approx. USD 25). An ACAP permit is needed to enter the conservation area.
TIMS Card (Trekkers’ Information Management System)
Trekkers need to pay NPR 2,000 (solo) / NPR 1,000 (with agency). A TIMS card is required for trekking safety and registration.
Both permits can be found in Kathmandu and Pokhara, or your trekking agency can make them available for you.
There is no special permit necessary to visit Muktinath except for entering Upper Mustang.

Trekking Difficulty
The Annapurna Circuit Trek from Jomsom Flight or Drive has been graded as moderately demanding and is best suited for adventure tourists with reasonable physical condition. Being neither technically challenging nor mountaineering but involving 5 to 9 walking hours a day over mixed terrain encompassing forest cover and river valleys, and not rocky trail and desert high-country terrain, the trek is best suited for those who have good stamina. The most difficult portion is the ascent to Thorong La Pass at an elevation of 5,416 meters, where altitude and weather are the biggest factors in how well one does.
Good acclimatization is the most important factor of a safe and successful trek, and rest days in Manang enable the body to acclimatize to thin air. Cold weather clothing will be needed even at high altitude during mornings and evenings, so cold weather clothing must be anticipated. Individuals will also have to monitor themselves for signs of altitude sickness. With a leisurely pace, meticulously planned schedule, and the assistance of experienced guides and porters, even less capable walkers can make the trek and appreciate the breathtaking Himalayan views and cultural diversity the Annapurna region has to offer.

FAQs For Annapurna Circuit Trek with Jomsom Flight or Drive
The actual trek is moderate and you should be in shape. The trek covers days of walking right through, climbing steep mountain ridges, and trekking at higher altitudes, especially passing over Thorong La Pass (5,416 m).
Nepal Trekking Rangers was phenomenal. Yuddha and his team were communicative, organized, and fairly priced. When our flight to Kathmandu was delayed, Yuddha met us at the airport and ensured we made our connection to Lukla without issue.
On the Three Passes trek, Yuddha was exceptional — attentive, flexible, and fun (he taught us Nepali card games we played nonstop). Thanks to Nepal Trekking Rangers, this truly was a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
Trek with Nepal Trekking experts if you are going to Nepal!
I just finished the Everest Base Camp trek with Nepal Trekking Rangers and would 100% recommend them to anyone coming to Nepal.
Yuddha, the owner, is a true professional. From the beginning when I contacted him, he was super responsive and able to provide advice on which trek was best. Whenever I had follow-up questions, he would always respond the same day. They also operate with the utmost integrity. Originally, I was meant to trek with them in 2020, but this was cancelled because of Covid. Yuddha reminded me that I had paid the deposit five years ago (which at the time I had told him to hold on to) and took that off the price — I had completely forgotten.
They gave me a warm welcome at the airport as soon as I arrived, and Yuddha met me at my hotel to make sure I had the correct kit, even providing me with things I didn’t have free of charge.
On the trek itself, Yuddha was our guide — so knowledgeable, fun, and spoke great English. Every time I asked him a question about the mountains or region, he had an answer. All the tea houses booked were great and had good food. In the evening, he would play cards with us, and if we ever needed help with anything, he was always on hand.
Words can’t describe the views you see on this trek — we were completely surrounded by the mountains. Yuddha also made sure we went at a sensible pace to avoid any risk of altitude sickness and to ensure we could take it all in.
Overall, it was an experience of a lifetime, and next time I am back in Nepal, I will be trekking with Nepal Trekking Rangers.
Thanks so much, Yuddha!
Perfekter Trek zum Everest Basecamp
We have nothing but positive things to say about our trek with Nepal Trekking Rangers! Our group of three friends was looking for something a little different from the EBC trek and didn’t have time to do the full Three Passes loop. Nepal Trekking Rangers gave us lots of options, and we decided to trek directly to Gokyo Lakes, then over Renjo La and back down to Lukla. It was perfect for us.
Our guide, Yuddha, was super knowledgeable, and the team supporting us was kind and helpful throughout. The communication before and after the trek was excellent, and when we ran into a small snag during our journey, Yuddha handled it smoothly and professionally.
I can’t say enough about how experienced, well-connected, and genuinely kind everyone was. We had an amazing trip, and you’ll be in great hands with Nepal Trekking Rangers.
Great Himalay experience
Hiked the Three Passes trek with Nepal Trekking Rangers and our guide Yuddha. He was a fantastic guide to have on this trek — knowledgeable, professional, and a great match for our group. I’ll be happy to use their services again on our next Himalaya adventure.
Incredible Three Passes Trek Experience!
We had an incredible time on our Three Passes trek (and during our whole visit to Nepal) thanks to Nepal Trekking Rangers! I researched trekking guides thoroughly before we started our trip and probably reached out to 15 of them. I decided Nepal Trekking Rangers was the best in terms of reviews, ease of communication, and price. After the trip was complete, I can confidently say I was right to choose them.
We had a specific itinerary in mind that needed to fit our schedule, and Yuddha was extremely helpful and accommodating. He answered all our questions promptly during planning and provided extra info, tips, and advice that we wouldn’t have known to ask about. When our international flight to Nepal was delayed by 12 hours, he pulled out all the stops to make sure we still made it to Lukla on time — coming to the airport himself with all the gear we rented, helping us repack into their duffel bags, and storing our suitcases at their office. It was incredibly convenient, and we would have been hugely delayed without his extra effort. He even brought Nepalese rupees to exchange from our USD so we wouldn’t waste time at the airport — and at a better rate!
Our guide, Yuddha, was clearly one of the best we saw on the trails. His decades of experience showed. He was kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun. He helped us navigate the chaos of Lukla airport, made sure we got the best possible accommodations within our budget, communicated with tea house staff, showed us local plants, animals, and landmarks, and answered all our “Which mountain is this?” questions with patience and insight. He told us amazing stories, taught us a Nepali card game that became a nightly tradition, and kept us safe and confident through tricky sections like Chukhung Ri, glacier crossings, and the steep descents from the passes.
When we decided mid-trip to skip an acclimatization day in Dingboche, Yuddha quickly rebooked all our accommodations to adjust the schedule. That flexibility allowed us to return to Kathmandu a day early and enjoy more time in the city — a perfect ending to the trek.
Nepal Trekking Rangers clearly employs some of the best in the business, and Yuddha is incredibly skilled and dedicated to making sure guests have an unforgettable experience. After the trek, we visited his office in Kathmandu to share our experience, and he was a warm and gracious host, eager to hear our feedback — which was all glowing.
This was a truly memorable trip, and we’re so glad we chose Nepal Trekking Rangers.
